The Sources Page gives you a list view of all the data your city has, its health, and brief descriptions of each source.
At the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to
- Navigate the Data Sources Page
- Approve Community Data sources
View of the data available in Jersey City the Sources Page.
1. Navigate the Data Sources Tabs
When you click on the Sources button on the left side panel, the first page that loads by default will be your city’s sources (in this case, sources available in Jersey City). Data Types are in alphabetical order and will have a brief description regarding their type and any sources that make up that Data Type.

Each Data Source designates where it came from, who imported it, how many data points it has, and how recently it was updated.
Clicking on View Data Type will open a page that gives you details regarding that Data Type such as its fields, when it was created, and time of the last update.

2. Approve of Community Data Sources
Community Data Sources are sources that have been submitted to Stae by your teammates or by people from your community. These sources have not yet been added into the City’s official sources for consumption. If you’re an Admin, you can approve these data sources by selecting specific Data Types and/or all of them. Click the Add to Municipality button to add your selected sources. The sources will now appear in the Overview and Map Pages.

3. My Personal Sources
The Personal Sources tab will contain all the Data Sources you’ve created on Stae. To create your own Data Source, click on the Add Source button on the top right corner. We will cover how to create your own Data Source in an upcoming tutorial.
